CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD
 

1) Click on the Settings button at the top of the screen.

2) Click on Password.

3) Click on Change Password.

4) Type in your current password.

Note: If you have it stored and don't remember what it is, you are going to have to call AOL at 888-265-8004. They will then give you a temporary password. You must then go into where you store your password, then remove the stored password, and sign off/sign on again. Enter the temporary password at the screen which will pop up right after the computer dials into AOL's local access number. You will then be able to change the password to whatever you like. It is always a good idea to write down your password, but keep it hidden away. (Remember where you keep it hidden!) Never give your password to anyone, not even to someone claiming to be from AOL.

5) Type the new Password in. The password needs to be at least 6 characters long. (Your new password can be the same as your other password for your other Screen Name(s), but it is probably best to create a new one.) See our instructions for creating secure passwords.

6) Press the Tab key on the keyboard, or click into the box to the right of the first password box.

7) Type the new Password in again to confirm.

8) Click on Change Password.

9) Remember to store your new password, if you like to use this feature.
