USING THE KEYBOARD TO TURN THE COMPUTER OFF

<Windows XP>

Method 1

1) Hold down the Alt key and press the F4 key, which is along the top row of keys on the keyboard.  (You may have to do this more than once, if you have other windows or programs open.)

2) Press the U key on the keyboard.

Method 2

1) You can press the Windows key (it has the wavy Microsoft Windows "flag" icon on it),

2) Press the U key twice.

<Windows 98/ME>

1) Press the Windows key.

2) Press the U key.

3) Use the Up or Down Arrow key until there is a black dot next to:  ¤Shut down (or Shut down shows in the window).

4) Press the Enter key on the keyboard.
