LEXUS GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEM

(GPS = Global Positioning System)

TO INPUT A DESTINATION:

1) Press the I agree button on the accident disclaimer screen.

2) Press the Dest button on the edge of the color LCD touch-screen display.

3) Press the Address button on the LCD display.

4) Press the correct number buttons for the house number.

Note: Be sure to remember the house number and street name or write it down, because the LCD display screen will not show it to you when you get to your destination.

5) Press the OK button.

6) Press the correct alphabetical and number buttons for the street name. Use the       button for a space.

Note: If you make a mistake, press the Backspace button.

7) If the street name pops up on the screen before you finish typing the complete name, and it is the correct street, press the button that has the street address on it.

8) Otherwise, press the Enter button.

[9) If the GPS system reports that there is no house number on that street, or no street with that name, recheck the address and re-input the correct house number and address.]

10) Press the Replace button.

11) You should then see the mileage to the destination and the minutes driving to that destination on the left-hand side of the LCD display. It should also tell you whether you have selected the Quickest Route or the Shortest Route. (To change this, press the 3 Routes button, then press the Quick1, Quick2, or Short button.)

Note: If you don’t see the 3 Routes button, press the ON4  button in the lower left-hand corner of the LCD display.

12) To change the Route Preferences, press the Route button, then press the Route Preferences button. Press the Allow Freeway, Allow Toll Road, etc. buttons. (The buttons you select will have a yellow vertical bar on their left sides.) Press the OK button.

Note: This is a good way to avoid freeways if you don’t want to travel on them on this particular trip. (Remember to turn this back ON later!)

13) When you are ready to proceed to your selected destination, press the Guide button on the LCD display.

14) You should then hear, “Please proceed to the highlighted route. Then the route guidance will start,” or “The route guidance will now start.”

15) To preview the selected route, press the Map View button, then press the Route Preview button.

Press the    button to see the route your car will take to get to your destination.

To start from the destination and go backwards, press the     button, then press the     button.

16) Press the Back button.

17) When you arrive at your destination, you should hear, “You have arrived at your destination. The route guidance is now finished.”

TO GO TO A DESTINATION THAT YOU’VE PREVIOUSLY ENTERED:

1) Press the Dest button.

2) Press the Memory button on the LCD display.

3) Scroll down by pressing the Down Arrow button, then press the previous destination you want.

4) Press the Replace button.

5) Press the Guide button.

TO ZOOM IN OR ZOOM OUT ON THE MAP:

1) Press the Zoom Out button (it has a picture of a magnifying glass with a Minus sign [-] on it). You can repeatedly press it to continue zooming out. Check the Ruler to see the scale (in feet and miles).

2) Press the Zoom In button (it has a picture of a magnifying glass with a Plus sign  [+] on it) to zoom in. You can repeatedly press this button to continue zooming in.

TO CREATE A MEMORY POINT FOR AN ADDRESS YOU OFTEN GO TO (FOR EXAMPLE, YOUR FRIEND’S OR RELATIVE’S HOUSE):

1) Press the Menu button at the left.

2) Press the My Places button on the LCD display.

3) Under Memory Points, it will tell you how many more memory points you can store (such as 81/106).

4) Press the Register button.

5) Press the Address button.

6) Press the correct buttons for the house number and street name. Press the correct button for the City, if it comes up.

7) Press Enter.

8) Press the Icon button, then select one out of the 48 or so icons for this Memory Point (such as an icon of a building, house, coffee cup, gas station, etc.).

9) Press the Attribute button.

10) Press one of the free buttons (for example, it will say, “3  Not registered”).

11) Press OK.

12) Press the Back button.

TO USE THE MEMORY POINT BUTTON:

1) Press the Dest button.

2) Press the # 3 button (for example).

3) Press the Replace button.

4) Press the Guide button.

TO DELETE A MEMORY POINT BUTTON:

1) Press the Menu button.

2) Press the My Places button on the LCD display.

3) Press the Delete button.

4) Press the button that has the address you want to delete.

5) Press the Yes button to confirm that you want to delete it.

6) Press the Back button.

7) Press the Back button.

Tip: To return to the map at any time, press the Map button.
