TO SELECT MORE THAN ONE FILE:

Note: These procedures work in just about every program on your computer, including Windows Explorer, Microsoft Word, Outlook Express and so on.

1) If the files you want to highlight are all together in one large block:

1) Click once on the top file to highlight it.

2) Scroll down to the bottom file.

3) Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and click once on the bottom file.

4) Release the Shift key.

5) Perform an action* on the whole block of selected files, such as Delete. To delete all of the selected files, press the Delete key on the keyboard, or click on the Delete button on the window.

2) If the files are not all together in one block, but are scattered around:

1) Hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard (instead of the Shift key).

2) Click once on one of the files you want to highlight.

3) [Scroll up or down and] click on another file.

4) Release the Ctrl key when you are done selecting the files you want.

5) Perform an action* on all of selected files, such as Delete. To delete all of the selected files, press the Delete key on the keyboard, or click on the Delete button on the window.

*you cannot Rename more than one file at once.
