1) Turn OFF any antivirus program and firewall program you have.

2) Open Internet Explorer (6.0).

3) Type in the Address box, then click on Go (or press the Enter key on the keyboard).

4) Click on the download button at the upper right.

5) Click on the download  button under Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).

6) Click on Run on the download IE7-windowsXP-x86-enu.exe file web page. (IE7-windowsXP-x86-enu.exe or equivalent is the installation file for Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0.)

7) Click on Run to install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.

8) Click on Next.

9) Click on the I accept button.

10) Click on the Validate button to validate your copy of Windows XP (your operating system) as genuine.

11) Click to put a check mark next to:  ü Install the latest updates for Internet Explorer and Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool (recommended).

12) Click on Next.

13) Wait a few minutes for Internet Explorer 7.0 to be installed.

14) Click on the Restart Now (recommended) button when it comes up on the screen.

15) After the computer restarts, click on the following:

ü  Keep my current default search provider (such as Google or Yahoo).

ü Turn on automatic Phishing Filter (recommended).  [This will flag potentially fraudulent or scam web sites purporting to be, for example, your bank’s web site, stock brokerage house’s web site, or PayPal’s web site.]

¨ Always use ClearType to view web pages (recommended).  [You may want to remove this check mark if the text on web pages looks fuzzy.]

16) Click on the Save Settings button.

17) Click on Go to your home page.

18) See our instructions for using the new features in Internet Explorer 7.0.
