TO SAVE TIME WHEN ENTERING A WEB SITE ADDRESS IN THE ADDRESS BOX OF INTERNET EXPLORER*:
1) Click once in the Address box (where you see, for example, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/), then type the unique part of the web site address, such as latimes or yahoo.
2) Hold down the Ctrl key and press the Enter key once.
3) The computer will automatically add the “http://www.” and “.com” parts and take you to that web site.
Note: This tip only works for .com addresses. It doesn't work for .edu or .org addresses, such as http://www.sdsu.edu or http://www.pbs.org.
* This tip works for the Firefox, Netscape, Opera, and Safari browsers, too.
